UniVOOK Brings Two Core Technology Platforms to the Global Stage, Empowering Precision Animal Feeding and Sustainable Development of the Livestock Industry
Together with the Institute of Animal Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (IAS-CAAS) and Hunan Zhongben Intelligent Technology, UniVOOK will present two innovative technology platforms — the Automatic In Vitro Simulated Digestion System (SDS III) and the Closed-Circuit Automatic Respiration Calorimetry System (CRS) — at EuroTier 2026 in Hanover, Germany (Booth: Hall 20, Stand A50), from November 10–13, 2026, exploring effective solutions for precision animal nutrition and animal health with global users.

1-In Vitro Automatic Simulated Digestion System (SDS III)

The Simulated Digestion System III (SDS III) is a patented bionic in vitro platform designed to mimic gastrointestinal digestion in monogastric animals. It provides standardized, integrated, automated solutions for evaluating nutrient bioavailability (e.g., available energy, amino acids) in feed and feedstuffs, as well as assessing feed enzyme bioefficacy.
SDS III represents a significant technological advance in biomimetic feed evaluation and feed enzymes evaluation . The platform integrates a high-automatic digestion device with species-specific simulated digestive fluid kits for poultry, swine and pet animals to closely reproduce in vivo physiological digestive processes. Through the fully automated synchronization of enzyme delivery, pH adjustment, buffer infusion, and hydrolysate removal, SDS III transforms conventional manual in vitro assays into a highly standardized, fully automated workflow. This innovation substantially improves analytical efficiency, reproducibility, and throughput while reducing labor, operating costs, and operator-dependent variability.
SDS III establishes a new benchmark for modern feed evaluation by combining the physiological relevance of in vivo digestion with the efficiency and standardization of advanced in vitro technology. The platform achieves prediction accuracy comparable to animal bioassays while eliminating the need for routine live-animal experiments in feed evaluation. By enabling rapid, reliable, and sustainable nutritional assessment, SDS III addresses longstanding challenges in feed research and quality control and supports the global transition toward ethical animal research in accordance with the 3Rs principles (Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement).

2-Closed-Circuit Automatic Respiration Calorimetry System (CRS-1)
An in vitro nutrient metabolism evaluation technology that precisely determines energy expenditure and metabolic rate by measuring oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production in animals over a defined period. It analyzes the energy allocation and conversion from AME to HI, NE, and RE, as well as the oxidation patterns of the three major nutrients(glucose, protein, and fat). It is used for determining feed net energy, basal metabolic rate and energy requirements of animals in different environments, carbon and nitrogen emissions, and evaluation of metabolic modulator activity.
