Net energy (NE) is the most precise measure of dietary energy for small animals, but its accurate determination requires a reliable respiratory calorimeter. Respiration Calorimetry System (RCS) is jointly developed by Institute of Animal Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (IASCAAS) and Zhongben Intelligent company. RCS system’s high repeatability and precision in maintaining environment conditions and monitoring growth performance and energy partitioning, makes it as a valuable tool for accurately evaluating energy utilization in small animals.

Basic Principles
– Total heat production and fasting metabolic heat production；
